Deso Body and Deso Face Fat Reducing Injections

Deso face and Deso body fat dissolving injections are the latest way to get back to a more desirable shapely you. Deso face is great for getting rid of excess fat on the face and more commonly on the chin – ‘double chin’. Whereas Deso body is perfect for removing fat around inner thighs, back, saddle bags, abdomen, arms, knees, top of the back, flanks and lipomas. The injections liquefy the fat in the area being targeted, the dissolved fat flows into the lymphatic system, where it is simply removed from the body. When treating the body localised fat is reduced and skin firmness is improved

Depending on the area treated and the amount of fat involved, several sessions may be required to achieve the desired result.

What to Do Before

Before you have this treatment, you need to make sure that you are fully informed about the procedure, so you know exactly what you expect. Our practitioner will go through all this with you at your consultations and will answer any questions you may have.

Make sure that you are not taking any kind of anti-inflammatory such as Ibuprofen for at least five days before you have your treatment. You also want to try and avoid alcohol for a couple of days before your treatment to reduce the risk of any bleeding. Make sure that you have disclosed all medication and other relevant medical information that your practitioner may need to know.  There are some cases where you might not be eligible for this treatment, so do check this out with our practitioner before you book your treatment.

What does a course of treatment involve?

The fat dissolving injection will be injected into the fat deposit using a needle. This then causes the fat to liquefy and break down before they are removed through the lymphatic system. The process of removal can take time, so you could be looking at a few weeks before you are seeing the kind of results that you are looking for due to one of the ingredients in the injection taking time to work in the tissue.

How long does the procedure last?

The procedure itself is brief, lasting approximately 10-30 minutes depending on the area. We allocate an hour to the session to allow for a thorough consultation, discussion of benefits/risks and to ensure any consent is fully informed. Procedures are not rushed.

Are the results permanent?

Yes, the fat cells in the treated areas are destroyed by this treatment. However, this does not stop your body’s ability to put on weight. DESO is not a treatment for obesity, it is a treatment for stubborn, localised pockets of fat and body/facial sculpting.

Do I need to take time off work or cover up?

Not necessarily. If discomfort is minimal and the treated area is not visible (e.g. thighs, abdomen) there is no objection to working. Treating the chin area may result in visible redness, bruising and/or swelling so you may wish to organise a few days off work, if this is an issue for you.

Do I need a follow-up appointment?

We offer all patients a follow-up appointment 4-6 weeks following treatment. This is to ensure results are satisfactory, there are no concerns and no complications. This interval also allows sufficient time to offer further DESO injections safely if the treatment plan requires more than 1 session.

Are DESO Body/Face treatment safe?

Used correctly and in the trained hands of our practitioner, DESO treatments are very safe. No injectable treatment however is without risk. The absolute risk of serious complications however remains exceptionally low.

Are There Side Effects?

As with all treatments, some people experience side effects after having this treatment, so here are some of the more common ones that you can look out for:

  • Pain lasting a few weeks
  • Allergic reaction
  • Nodules but these usually sort themselves out
  • Results that are not as expected, such as loose skin or stubborn fat.

Aftercare

Following DESO fat dissolving injections we would advise that you

How will I feel after treatment?

Redness in the affected area is common. You may experience bruising and/or swelling. Mild discomfort is common, but some may have more prolonged pain. This can be managed, and we provide guidance and support throughout your treatment journey.

It is important that you do not apply any cosmetics to the area for at least 24 hours.

Avoid Aspirin for pain to reduce the risk of bruising or bleeding. Paracetamol is acceptable. Intermittent cooling with ice can be used by applying for 5 minutes post-procedure. A simple fan can also be helpful for discomfort.

Bruising may occur. Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds, and heat therapies during the treatment period.

Avoid hot baths and showers (tepid water only) for 5 days.

Nodules are not uncommon. They can last up to a month and usually disappear without any intervention. However, our Practitioner would need to assess anything unusual.

A compression garment may be worn for 2-5 days following treatment (this will be guided by our Practitioner’s recommendation).

Contact our clinic with any concerns without delay.
